Introduction to Management Information System ( MIS)
A management information system (MIS) is a procedure of gathering information from a range of sources, compiling it and presenting it in a readable format. Information displayed by the MIS typically shows “actual” data over against “planned” results and results from a year before; thus it helps you to measure progress against goals. We provide the right information to the right person in the right fashion at the right time. The information is communicated with accurate and up-to-date to cope with uncertainty.

It helps in strategic planning, management control, operational control and processing
Helping the junior management personnel by providing the operational data for planning, scheduling and control, and helping them further in decision-making at the operation level to correct an out of control situation
Helping the middle management in short term planning, target setting and controlling the business functions
